Scarlett

Daddy calls her SB. Other nicknames include Scarly, muffin, and precious pie. Growing way too fast. She was 7 lbs 13.5 ozs when we left the hospital and at ther 4 day checkup, then 8 lbs 8 ozs at a week and a half. We never put her in newborn diapers, b/c we were too nervous to buy any after Hudson. She has just about outgrown her size 1 diapers due to some little rolls showing up on her legs. Scarlett has been in 0-3 month clothing from the beginning because she is so long, but she just outgrew the few newborn clothes that she had. So sad to already be putting away some clothes. This girl can poop! I have never seen bowels that work so well. I have not changed one diaper since she was born that there was not some poopy in. We are so proud:) She is still very sleepy and sleeps most of the day, staying up for only about an hour at a time after her 3 hour naps. Until bedtime...she gets this last burst of energy right before bed and doesn't want to settle down. We are working on this, but generally is in bed at 8, sleeps until 2-3am, eats, wakes up again at 6-7am, eats, and wakes up again around 9. The kids love to come in her room first thing to say good morning:) When Scarlett is awake she is super content and looks around at everything. She still responds best to mommy's voice, but is really starting to love Daddy and her siblings too. This baby is so well loved. She constantly has little hands rubbing all over her head. What little hair she has will probably be rubbed off. Scarlett is such a good sport and rarely cries about it. She has started giving us a super sad face when she isn't happy about something, which is soooo cute! We are so blessed to have such a wonderful, peaceful, beautiful baby girl!

Kaitlin

Big sister extraordinaire! All I hear ALL DAY LONG is can I ____Scarlett. This always has something to do feeding, holding, burping, changing, and bathing. Wait...what else is there? Nothing at all. I am trying so hard to let her do as much as possible, but I have to admit that I get a bit claustrophobic by the end of the day with all the "help". I am so very glad that she loves her sister so much and she mentions often that she is responsible for Scarlett being here, b/c it was her prayer that God heard. Kaitlin is definately the ring leader of our clan and decides what will be played and when it will be played and when she will have alone time and for how long. Hudson does not always appreciate this. She is part mother, part best friend for Huddy. Kaitlin has been trying on her sassy pants lately and we are having to dilligently teach her how to be respectful. We often hear, "just listen to me", "you have to listen to me", "i know how to do it", "you have to tell me the truth, and I know the truth", and phrases like this. She is trying to reason with us, but it's with 4 year old logic and that gets interesting. She gets very upset when she thinks you are not really trying to see her point of view and it is important to her that you hear everything she has to say...and then agree with her. I love the perseverance in this kid! She will wear you down and has taught me that my yes should be yes and my no a no. She is the most loving, touchy, thoughtful, and fantastic kid!

Hudson

Surprise surprise, he is still all boy. He names every piece of big machinery we drive by. Giant "exerbaters" are his favorite, with backhoe loaders coming in a close second. He always talks about, "when I get older, I drive". This pertains to anything one could possibly drive or push or roll...He is always muddy from the back yard and wears a big smile most of the time. He is the "zoom"er of bears, finder of things lost under the bed, king of "I need one more kiss". For such a boy, he has a sweet personality that shines through in hugs and kisses and snuggles periodically throughout the day. He jumps off of EVERYTHING! Breakfast meats are his favorite foods. Hudson is 100% energy all day, except for a short nap, and prefers that Kaitlin is his constant companion. He wants to play whatever she does as long as it involves some sort of sword or something scary. His vocabulary and understanding are amazing. When he spilled something the other day, he told me that it was "not totally awesome". He knows every word of the star spangled banner, Jesus loves me, and Awesome God. He is one smart kid! He also has a rather strong will. If I already had one kid to teach me how to say no, then God decided to add one more. He likes to ignore the first time he is spoken to and we are having to really work on obeying the first time. He also knows when to flash that adorable smile to try to get out of trouble. We love this rambunctious, playful, funny little boy!
